Unijos Matriculates 716 Part-time Students

UNIJOS MATRICULATES 716 PART-TIME STUDENTS

The University of Jos has matriculated 716 Students for its Part-Time Programmes in the Institute of Education, Faculty of Education of the University.

Vice- Chancellor of the University, Professor Seddi Sabastian Maimako, congratulated the newly Matriculated Students for being among the chosen ones and charged them to abide by the rules and regulations of the University. Professor Maimako who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Teresa Nmadu, informed the students that the University can invoke sanctions if the regulations of the University are violated. According to the Vice- Chancellor, the B.Ed Programme is one of the flag ship programmes of the University and as such the students should conduct themselves accordingly in the course of their studies. Professor Maimako charged the students to report any failures they observe about the services of the University in order for improvements to be made and informed the students that the Institute has moved to its Permanent Site at Naraguta.

The Vice-Chancellor appreciated the Faculty of Education and the Institute of Education for training teachers who are custodians of tomorrow’s leaders.

Earlier, the Dean, Faculty of Education, Professor Mary Haggai who presented the students for Matriculation, said it was a combined Matriculation of both newly admitted students and those in Contact Two. Professor Haggai congratulated them and admonished them to be good students.

High point of the Matriculation Ceremony was the Oath-taking by the students which was performed by the Registrar of the University, Mr. Monday Danjem who was represented by the Deputy Registrar, Legal Unit, Barr. Emmanuel Jwander.
