The 42nd Induction and Oath Taking Ceremony of the Graduating Pharmacists of the University of Jos Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences held on the 5th of July, 2018.
The lineup of activities to the event included a workshop on the 3rd of July, 2018 with discussions bothering on two topics:
✓ Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation
✓ Bridging the gap between Classroom and Practice
There was a dinner and awards night in the evening.
Interaction with Faculty and Pharmacist Council of Nigeria (PCN) was held on the 4th of July 2018.
Among dignitaries present for the induction and oath taking was the Vice Chancellor, University of Jos Prof. Sebastian Seddi Maimako, Who delivered the Opening Speech. There was a keynote address by Mr. Peter Oyeneye titled “The Distraction to Professionalism: The way Forward for Pharmacy.” The speech by the PCN Registrar was delivered by his representative Dr. Antony Idoko, (Head, Education and Training PCN) who also administered the oath and presented provisional certificates to the inductees.
Awards were presented to best graduating students in the following Categories
a. PCN Prize – Best Graduating Student
b. PSN Plateau State’s Prize - Best Graduating Student
c. NAIP Northern Zone - Best Graduating Student in Industrial Pharmacy
d. Dean’s Prize – Distinction Candidates
e. Prof. Kolawole’s Prize - Best Graduating Student in Pharmaceutical Chemistry
f. Prof. Wonnang’s Prize - Best Graduating Student in Toxicology
This year, One Hundred and Six (106) graduates were inducted among them was the Daughter of the University Librarian and Chairman University Webteam, Pharm. Eunice Ifeoluwa Akintunde.
