UNIJOS HOSTS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
The University of Jos is to host an International Conference on Resources Management aimed at providing an interdisciplinary platform for Researchers, Practitioners and Educators to present and deliberate on current innovations, trends, practical challenges and solutions in the field of Management Sciences. Being the 1st International Conference organized by the University’s Faculty of Management Sciences, the programme will bring together leading Academics, Researchers and Scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on the various aspects of Resources Management.
The Conference has the theme “Emerging Issues in Management of Resources in a Democracy” and will cover areas of interest in Accounting and Finance, Marketing and e-Business, Banking, Actuarial Science, Insurance and Risk Management. Other areas of interest to be covered are Entrepreneurship, Information Technology Management, Forensics, Human Resource Management and Corporate Governance.
Notable Speakers at the Conference include Mr Satu Jatau Jewon, Branch Controller, Central Bank of Nigeria, Jos; Senator Joshua Dariye, Senator representing Plateau Central in the National Assembly and Former Plateau State Governor; Professors Jane Ande and Ambrose Okwoli, both former Directors General of the National College of Accountancy, Jos; Professor Francis Ojaide, Former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria ICAN and numerous others.
Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Seddi Sebastian Maimako, who is the immediate-past Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, will be Chief Host at the occasion which will be Chaired by Professor Ekoja B. Ekoja, Director, Office of Research and Development, University of Jos while the Dean of Management Sciences, Professor Samuel Ocholi will serve as Host.
Among events lined up during the conference are the Opening Ceremony scheduled for Wednesday 9th May, 2018 by 10.00am at the Crest Hotel and Gardens, Jos, Gala Night and Dinner where some Distinguished Nigerians who have excelled in various spheres of endeavor will be honored with Awards of Excellence.
A communique will be issued at the end of the Conference while Conference Proceedings will be published as an international academic journal.
