UNIJOS VC INSPECTS NEWLY ACQUIRED VEHICLES
The Vice- Chancellor, University of Jos, Professor Seddi Sebastian Maimako has inspected some new vehicles which the University recently acquired. The Vice-Chancellor said University of Jos was established with the vision of being an innovative institution, hence the need to equip it with more state-of-the-art facilities. He, therefore, described the acquisition of the new vehicles as a modest achievement which the University, under his leadership, has achieved, saying this will facilitate the smooth running of the University.
The newly acquired vehicles, some of which were acquired through the University’s Internally Generated Revenue, NEEDS Assessment of Nigerian Public Universities under Special Presidential Intervention and a donation from a former Council member of the University, include a brand new 5-seater Double Cabin Pick-up van (IVM Carrier) and a brand new Toyota Camry 3.5L (2017 model). Others are a brand new Toyota Corolla 2.0GLI CVT FS (2017 model), a Fire Engine Truck, a Mercedes–Benz Atego Water Tanker with water pump and another 5-seater Double Cabin Pick-up van (IVM Carrier).
The Vice-Chancellor, who was elated with the achievement, gave assurance that the vehicles will be utilized according to the purposes for which they were acquired. He, therefore, charged the Directorate of Physical Facilities of the University to handle the vehicles with care and ensure constant maintenance of the vehicles.
Professor Maimako promised that his administration will not relent in its commitment to ensuring rapid development of the University, saying it will continue to do more as soon as the University accesses more funds.
